Admissions information

In 2026 Bolyai Farkas Theoretical High School offered 168 places in seven grade IX classes across three programmes, and all of them were filled in the first allocation round. The 2027 admission calendar is set by Order 5831/2026 of the Minister of Education and Research: the computerised allocation will take place on 22 July 2027. Below you will find all the important details of the admission process.
Sciences programme

Mathematics–Computer Science

Advanced mathematics and computer science, algorithmic thinking, programming (C++, Python). Cambridge Assessment preparation centre. In 2026 (code 146): IX E – intensive English, IX G – intensive computer science.

Information and open days

In spring
Information sessions for parents and students. The county admissions information booklet is published in spring.

National Assessment (Evaluare Națională)

22, 24 and 25 June 2027
Grade VIII written exams in Romanian, mathematics and Hungarian. The admission average is based on the results of these exams.

Computerised allocation

22 July 2027
The Ministry of Education's automatic allocation system places students according to their ranking and their choices.

Enrolment

23–27 July 2027
Enrolment takes place at the school in the days following the allocation. We publish the exact days, the rooms and the documents required in the News section.

  • Copies of the parents' identity cards
  • Documents issued by the school certifying completion of grade VIII (academic record extract, a document certifying the national assessment result)

19–21 May: registration for the Hungarian language placement test (for students who come from a class not taught in Hungarian); 24–28 May: the test; 2 June: final results.

22, 24 and 25 June 2027

National Assessment: Romanian language, mathematics, Hungarian language. First results on 30 June, final results on 7 July.

9 July 2027

Publication of the county ranking.

12–16 and 19 July 2027

Filling in the application form (choices).

22 July 2027

Computerised allocation; publication of the results and of the remaining places.

23–27 July 2027

Enrolment at the school and handing in the documents.

9–12 August 2027

9–10 August: registration for the second allocation round; 11–12 August: second allocation to the remaining places.
