About the department
The English department, with its nine permanent teachers, is one of the largest departments in our school. Its teachers are fully trained both in their subject and in teaching methodology, and all this allows our students to learn English to European standards.
Alongside our everyday teaching and educational work, we teachers pay particular attention to preparing our students at several levels: for the baccalaureate, the language competence exam, Cambridge language exams, subject competitions and other contests that students greatly enjoy (Public Speaking, Keep in touch with reality, Kangaroo).
We also take on the organisation of the local and county rounds of the English-language public speaking competition called Public Speaking, which further strengthens the links between the county's well-known schools. We can be proud of outstanding results in school, local, county, regional and national competitions.
We have our own events that have become traditions, the most popular of which is the English-language Ki mit tud? (Who knows what?)
Thanks to a number of successful grant applications, and with the support of the school's management, we have been able to equip a language lab that meets the real needs of today. It includes an English-language library of 2,000 titles, which gives our students an excellent opportunity to improve their English by reading classic works of literature and specialist publications.
