Brenyó Mihály Points Maths Competition

Call for entries – 2026–2027
“The desire for knowledge is an innate longing of the soul, …it only needs to be awakened.”
– Bolyai Farkas
Mathematics is one of the sciences in which a gift for above-average achievement shows itself relatively early. It is important that as many children and the people around them as possible recognise this in time, and encourage the gift to develop into ability. To this end, the Mureș County School Inspectorate and Bolyai Farkas Theoretical High School are announcing the Brenyó Mihály Points Maths Competition (Pontszerző) for pupils in grades 3–4 for the twenty-sixth time.
Aims of the competition
To recognise gifts for above-average achievement, to encourage these gifts to develop into abilities, to measure and stimulate logical thinking, to develop perseverance, fighting spirit and willpower, and to promote mathematics.
Registration and participation
- The competition is open to pupils in grades 3–4 in Romania whose mother tongue is Hungarian.
