Business plan competition

We welcome individual entries from students in grades X, XI and XII for the business plan presentation competition.

The competition has two rounds: a county stage and a national final.

How to apply

Register for the competition by 20 February, and also send the following details to [email protected]:

  • the student's name;

  • the name of the town or village in Hungarian;

  • the name of the town or village in Romanian;

  • the name of the school in Hungarian;

  • the name of the school in Romanian;

  • grade;

  • the name and contact details of the supervising teacher.

How the competition works

County stage – online test

Round I
Monday 9 March 2026, 14:00–15:00. Entrants receive the online test on the day of the competition. The students with the best results (max. 15 students) go through to the national final.

National final – written test

Round II – a)
A short written test of entrepreneurial knowledge.

National final – business plan presentation

Round II – b)
After the written test, each competitor presents (in no more than 10 minutes) a business plan of their own choice, prepared in advance – a feasible business based on real data – as a PowerPoint presentation.

What do we assess?

The competition assesses planning. For this reason we do not give preference to a student who runs a student company over those who only present a plan.

Preparation

For both the online test of the county stage and the written test of the national final, students should revise chapters 5, 6 and 8 of the grade X textbook. The textbook is available in PDF format.

One month before the competition we will publish a sample paper here on bolyai.ro.
