How the competition works

1

County stage – online problem sheet

Round I
Monday, 9 March 2026, 14:00. Students complete an online (Google Forms) problem sheet within a set time window. The instructions and the time allowed are announced at least three days before the competition.
2

Marking and ranking

Marking
Besides the self-marking program, a competition committee also marks the papers. Results are ranked by score; we announce them on the competition's main page and by e-mail.
3

National final – written exam

Round II
Competitors have to complete a problem sheet in 3 hours.

Only enter students who are willing to take part in the national stage too

We ask every participating school to enter students who, if they qualify, are willing to take part in the national stage too. In recent years, several qualifying students did not turn up for round II, and the empty places could no longer be filled by the next students in the ranking.
