More than 70 years of radio
The school's in-house radio started in the 1954–55 school year and now looks back on a history of more than 70 years. For those who take part, the studio is a "little home" — some 29 editors and technicians work on the broadcasts every week, providing entertainment during breaks and technical support at events.

The school radio starts
The forerunner of the school's in-house radio programme starts under the direction of teachers György Béla and Árkosi László. The programme is supervised by the head teacher or the Party secretary.
The Kolozsvári József era
Radio broadcasting continues under the direction of electrical technician Kolozsvári József. Custom-built equipment is used; the first valve amplifier weighs 150 kg. There is a loudspeaker in every classroom, and in the eighties outdoor loudspeakers are also put up in the schoolyard.
Relaunch as TBR
The radio, which had been off the air, starts again on the occasion of the World Alumni Reunion, taking the name Transz-Bolyai Radio (TBR). It has been running continuously ever since, supervised by teacher László József.
